According to TIME, the average human attention span is only eight seconds long. Compare this to the goldfish at nine seconds. Eight seconds. That’s how much time marketers have to grab consumers’ attention and drive engagement. When it comes to marketing online, the time can be cut even shorter.

For online marketing, the simpler, the better. Online consumers typically have a very low tolerance for long, drawn-out content that isn’t aesthetically appealing. Infographics include information for consumers, but in a way that’s visually appealing, with short, impactful tidbits of content. But, how do marketers create infographics? 1. Decide what you want to say.
First and foremost, decide what you want your infographic to be about. You don’t want to just throw together random information and hope it finds cohesiveness. Consider the story you want to tell in your marketing. What do you want consumers to know about your brand, and how can this infographic tell them that? For example, a professional marketing company might want to position its brand as the expert on all things related to online marketing.
